Nike Recycles 'Safari' as the 'Electric Pack'

Nike Recycles 'Safari' as the 'Electric Pack'

Nike previewed a collection known as the 'Blueprint Pack' on April 11, 2024. A prelude to a second collection hinted through Nike's Newsroom Blog:

"In addition to the Nike Blueprint Pack, Nike will release another energy-driving colorway pack prior to the summer games."

Roughly 4-months later (07/24/2024), Nike dropped the 'Electric Pack' also known as 'Safari' which was created by Tinker Hatfield in 1987. He was inspired by a couch covered in ostrich. This would later be replicated into an athletic shoe known as the Air Safari.

This particular sneaker would be the catalyst to other silhouettes possessing an ostrich print such as the Air Max 1, Air Foamposite 1, and Air Presto.

Here is an official statement and look of the 'Electric Pack' down below:

"Appearing across 55 shoes, the Electric Pack colorway combines a celebrated entry in the Nike palette — the Ostrich print, the animal print introduced by iconic Nike designer Tinker Hatfield on the Air Safari in 1987 — and Total Orange, a Nike performance color that will appear this summer."

Relevant models in the picture above are the Nike Machomai 2 and Nike Inflict 3 which can be purchased at Box-Up Nation via In-Store & Online (Click Here to Purchase).
However, we opted out in getting the Special Edition Olympics 'SE OLY' due to not getting a visual. We had to blindly place a product order without having the ability to know what we were getting ourselves into. We are also glad that we did not commit to one either. Here is the unveiling of the Nike Machomai 2 SE OLY and Nike HyperKO 2 SE OLY boxing boots.

The color-blocking by consensus was not received well by our consumers nor the general public. Take a look at a poll we did along with the feedback from reputable sneaker media outlets such as Nice Kicks and Sneaker News via Instagram.
The feedback was definitely not the best with comments saying that these would hit the outlets. The outlet reference is virtually a product going on sale below its target retail price. A win, win situation for the merchant and consumer. A company liquidates product while consumers get a discount. Fairly insulting to the Nike team behind the collection.
The silver lining would be the SE (Special Edition) variants between the Nike Machomai 2 and HyperKO 2 shown below:
We are projecting this colorway to far exceed the 'SE OLY' variants. The color-blocking on the 'SE' ones are far less brash and neutral. Neutral colors always outperform flamboyant colorways based on our sales data.
We should also have access to the 'SE' models; however, we are outspoken about products so hopefully APS does not snub us from placing an order.

I agree with the comments supporting the Special Edition variant (grey/black/blue). It has a nice, clean look. As for the SE OLY, way too flashy for me. There is probably a market for them…they will definitely turn heads at the gym (in good and bad ways). But I’d rather people notice my boxing skills more so than my footwear. I enjoyed reading about the history of this design. I am not a “sneaker head” so I wasn’t familiar with how this design has been repackaged by Nike.

Once again yall hit the ball with this article. Spot on information. I copped a pair of the SE machomais and am excited to see them in person. I think the SE OLY colorways are far to flamboyant and “to much” for my liking, especially being these are boxing boots, not regular everyday nikes you can wear with whatever. I don’t blame you guys for not placing a full order on all 4 pairs , you guys definitely made a smart move there. Off topic what nike NEEDS to do is re release the Nike Free Hyperko shields in 2 different colorways !! Now that model I would buy 2 of each colorway lol

Yeah…the SE only variants are far superior

This shoe looks sick I don’t see enough orange out there in the gym.
